SAN ANTONIO — UTSA begins a five-game road trip on Tuesday when it squares off with Texas Tech in a 3 p.m. doubleheader in San Angelo.
The Roadrunners (11-18) have won four consecutive games and are coming off a weekend sweep of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Senior infielder Ryan Hutson was named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week earlier today after batting .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles, a two-run home run, four RBIs and a stolen base against the Islanders. Hutson hit one of UTSA's seven homers in the sweep of A&M-Corpus Christi. Junior Matthew James and sophomore Ryan Dalton each belted a pair to pace the charge, while junior Jason Mohn and freshman Riley Good each slugged two-run shots.
Texas Tech (17-11) was swept by seventh-ranked Oklahoma over the weekend, but prior to that series, the Red Raiders had won eight of its last 10 outings.
Texas Tech is 5-1 all-time against the Roadrunners, which includes a 2-1 mark in neutral-site contests. The teams split a doubleheader in the last meetings on April 7, 2009, in Midland.
