FRISCO — Freshman Jori Fox was named Southland Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Fox went 6-for-13 (.462) with five runs scored, three home runs and four RBIs to help the Roadrunners to a 3-1 record last week. Her 1.154 slugging percentage (15 total bases) and .533 on-base percentage were tops on the squad.
The San Antonio native aided a pair of UTSA comebacks against Nicholls on Friday with a career-high three hits in game one and two homers in the nightcap. She capped the series with a pair of walks, a homer and career-best three runs scored in the series finale.
Fox is the third UTSA player to earn the award this season, more than any other school in the circuit. Junior Caitlyn Ivy was honored last week, while freshman Molly Fichtner took the season's first award on Feb. 15.
The Roadrunners (25-23) will be back in action on Tuesday at No. 5 Texas (41-4). First pitch from Red & Charline McCombs Field is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
