SAN ANTONIO — After snapping a four-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 4-2 victory at No. 19 Baylor, UTSA returns to Southland Conference play this weekend when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at Roadrunner Field. The series opens at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. tilt the next day and Sunday's finale is slated for 1 p.m.
The Roadrunners (8-18, 1-8 SLC) own a 20-18 all-time record against the Islanders (20-8, 6-3 SLC). UTSA took two of three from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last year but haven't won a series at home against the Islanders since 2007.
A&M-Corpus Christi, which has swept its last two league series, is tied for the nation's longest active winning streak at eight games. The Islanders, who are tied for third in the current Southland standings, lead the circuit in team batting average (.310) and runs scored (200).
