UTSA golf teams assist Habitat for Humanity

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's and women's golf teams took a break from the links to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity last Saturday.

The players exhanged swinging irons and wedges for hammers in addition to painting and installing the roof and windows on an area house.

"The men's and women's golf teams really enjoy volunteering for this cause each year," women's head coach Carrie Parnaby said. "Habitat for Humanity is a great opportunity to give back to our community. It was a wonderful team building exercise, as well, and we look forward to continuing with this project each year."

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that has built more than 350,000 homes, providing shelter for more than 1.75 million people in nearly 90 countries since its founding in 1976.
