BEAUMONT — The UTSA women's soccer team improved to 9-5-1 overall and 4-0-1 in Southland Conference play with a 1-0 win at Lamar on Sunday.
UTSA continued its best start in program history by handing the Lady Cardinals (4-9-2, 2-3-1 SLC) their first home defeat since a 1-0 setback to Louisiana Tech on Aug. 22.

Sophomore goalie Dacia Webb went the distance for the Roadrunners, collected her ninth career shutout and overtook Rachel Francis for the school's all-time record.
UTSA, pushed to overtime for the third time in its last four matches, is unbeaten (2-0-1) in extra time this fall.
The Birds return home to face Southeastern Louisiana (10-2-3, 3-1-1 SLC) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22. Laurel Dierking, Dillon, Jenna Pawelek, Kim Selman and Chelsea Zimmerman will be honored as part of Senior Night festivities prior to the match.
