SAN MARCOS — The UTSA women’s tennis team recorded nine wins at Saturday's Texas Play Day, which was played at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

The Roadrunners swept their competition in doubles play with three victories.

Junior Stefanie Peana teamed with freshman Isabelle Jonsson to down Texas State's Jessica Laing and Gabriela Rojas, 8-4. The junior-sophomore tandem of Katie Ottenbreit and Mariel Maffezzolli eliminated Heather Brien and Annie Ruscoe (St. Edward's), 8-6. Meanwhile, senior Caroline Dedering joined forces with junior Micaela Silva to whitewash the St. Edward’s team of Carolina Fahnehjelm and Mary Bain, 8-0.

The Birds continued their success in single’s action.
