SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s golf team will host the second annual Lone Star Invitational to be held Sunday and Monday at Briggs Ranch Golf Club (7,258 yards, par 72).
The 12-team field includes the host Roadrunners, Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Notre Dame, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas-Pan American, Texas State, UT Arlington, UTEP and Weber State. The two-day, 54-hole tournament gets underway with an 8 a.m. shotgun start for 36 holes on Sunday, followed by the final round with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
UTSA finished eighth in last year’s all-Texas field behind a 14th-place effort from Emiliano Martinez, who recorded a hole-in-one in the first round en route to a three-over-par 219 (71-71-77). Texas A&M won the team title with a 16-under 848, while the Aggies’ John Hurley was the individual medalist at 10-under 206.
