Roadrunner Ruckus slated for Friday

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host the fourth annual Roadrunner Ruckus at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the Convocation Center. The event marks the official start of basketball practice and admission is free and open to the public.

The first 1,000 UTSA students with a valid ID will receive a free t-shirt and all students can sign up for a chance to win free Chick-fil-A for one year outside the main doors.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. with free food tasting provided by Chick-fil-A, music and games in front of the Convocation Center. The program tips off an hour later inside the Bird Cage where fans will get their first look at the 2010-11 men’s and women’s basketball teams. There will be a slam dunk, 3-point shooting and several promotional contests, as well as special performances by both hoops squads, cheer and dance teams and UTSA's student freestyle dance group, UDEK.
