Junior Shannon Jungman led UTSA with a two-over-par 76 on Tuesday.
LINCOLN, Neb. — A second-round score of 310 dropped the UTSA women's golf team to a fourth-place finish with a team total of 604 (294-310) at the rain-shortened Chip-N Club Invitational.
Arkansas State topped the leaderboard after firing a second-day 292, which was good for the lowest round of the tournament, and it finished at 598 (306-292). North Dakota State's Amy Anderson repeated as tournament champion with a 144 (71-73).
Freshman Taylor Newlin took the top spot for the Roadrunners, finishing tied for fourth with a 148 (70-78). After holding the top spot to start the second round, she double-bogeyed her first hole and went on to shoot a six-over-par 78.
Sophomore Paola Valerio and freshman Fabiola Arriaga also carded rounds of 78. Valerio's 151 (73-78) tied for 11th, while Arriaga's 152 (74-78) tied for 16th.
Junior Shannon Jungman's 76 was the low round for UTSA on the day. Birdies on the ninth, 12th and 13th holes brought her two-round score down to a 155 (79-76), which was good for 30th place.
Freshman Chelsea Bretcher completed her first collegiate tournament with a 156 (77-79), and finished in a tie for 36th.
The Roadrunners will hit the links again Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 2-3, when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for the William K. Warren Invitational.
