Men's track & field collects Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy

CLEVELAND, Ohio — UTSA recently was awarded the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) All-Sports Trophy for indoor track & field, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced on Wednesday.

The Roadrunners were honored as the I-AAA program with highest finish at March's NCAA Championships. UTSA, led by All-American Teddy Williams' fourth-place finish in the 60 meters, scored five points and ended the meet tied for 35th place in the team standings, which was easily the top placing in program history (previous best: 48th/2005). In fact, UTSA finished ahead of three teams ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Top 25 Poll (#20 Stanford, #23 Kentucky, #24 Texas).

Now in its 10th year, the DI-AAA Athletics Directors Association's mission is to enhance initiatives common to its membership (the 95 Division I institutions that do not sponsor football), in particular, aspects related to their flagship basketball programs.
