Freshman Zaquita McClanahan improved her season best in the shot put on Saturday.

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women’s track & field team sent four athletes to compete in the Trinity Last Chance on Saturday and all four won their respective events with season-best marks.

Freshman Eboni Johnson skipped to a personal-best mark of 39-3 ¾ to win the triple jump comfortably ahead of Destiney Jones of Texas Lutheran’s 38-5 ½ measure. Johnson’s performance marked a significant improvement from her previous season-best of 38-0 ¼ turned in at the Victor Lopez Invitational on March 27.

Fellow first-year performer Zaquita McClanahan recorded a season best in winning the shot put, heaving the implement out to a 46-2 mark. It marked a half-inch improvement from her previous season best of 46-1 ½ posted at the Mt. SAC Relays last month.

Meanwhile, junior Aimee Jonas cleared a season-best 5-1 ¾ to take top honors in the high jump and freshman Marissa Cooksey clocked a season-best 58.91 to win the 400m.

The Roadrunners will travel to Arlington to compete in the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships next weekend.
