SAN ANTONIO — Heavy morning rains in the Alamo City have forced the postponement of Friday's Southland Conference series opener between UTSA and McNeese State at Roadrunner Field. The three-game set now will begin with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, while Sunday's series finale will remain at its originally-scheduled time of 1 p.m.
UTSA (17-27, 8-19 SLC) brings a three-game winning streak into the series and the Birds are three contests out of the eighth and final spot in this month's Southland Tournament. Meanwhile, the Cowboys (27-20, 15-12 SLC) have won seven of their last nine outings.
The Roadrunners have won nine games in a row against McNeese dating back to the 2007 season and 11 of the last dozen meetings overall.
