Roadrunners to travel to Corpus Christi this weekend

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s tennis team looks to remain perfectin Southland Conference play when it plays a noon matchup at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday.

When: Saturday, April 10 — 12 p.m.

Where: Corpus Christi Country Club

Schedule Notes: UTSA (11-7, 3-0 SLC) has clinched a spotfor the Southland Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament, which will beheld on April 23-25 in Corpus Christi. Senior Jorge Delgado continueshis singles dominance with a team-leading 12 wins, including nine atthe No. 6 spot. The league’s reigning player of the week, junior DanielMoreiras stands second with 10 singles victories. Freshman Tyler Brownand junior Max Stratmann have proven to be the top doubles partner withnine triumphs this season.

Opponents Notes: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sits at 8-13 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Islanderscollected a 4-1 win at UT Arlington on April 6. James Langford has ateam-best 10 singles wins and has teamed up with Dmitry Novikov for 10doubles victories on the season.  

Last Meeting: UTSA dropped a 6-1 decision against A&M-Corpus Christi on April 4, 2009, in San Antonio.

Last Time Out: UTSA suffered a 4-0 setback at the hands of No. 12 Texas A&M on Monday.
