FRISCO –

UTSA junior Max Stratmann collected his second Southland Conference Player of the Week honor of the season after going a perfect 3-0 in singles play last week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Stratmann, who picked up his first certificate on Feb. 2, also went 2-1 in doubles action to help the Roadrunners go 3-0 in their road matches at New Orleans, Tulane and Nicholls last week.

The Bonn, Germany, native opened his slate with a 6-3, 7-6 win against Guilherme Rebolo from New Orleans at the No. 3 singles and also won at No. 3 doubles via a walkover on March 14. Stratmann then posted a three-set (4-6, 6-4, 7-5) victory against Rodrigo Rappaccioli from Tulane at No. 4 two days later. He closed out the week with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Eric Fisher from Nicholls at No. 4 singles and then teamed up with freshman Tyler Brown to win their doubles match 8-6 at the No. 2 spot on March 18.

UTSA continues its nine-match road trip with a pair of matches in Lubbock. The Birds play New Mexico on Friday and No. 13 Texas Tech the following day.
