Junior Max Stratmann was named Southland Player of the Week for the second time this spring on Tuesday.

UTSA junior Max Stratmann collected his second Southland Conference Player of the Week honor of the season after going a perfect 3-0 in singles play last week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Stratmann, who picked up his first certificate on Feb. 2, also went 2-1 in doubles action to help the Roadrunners go 3-0 in their road matches at New Orleans, Tulane and Nicholls last week.
The Bonn, Germany, native opened his slate with a 6-3, 7-6 win against Guilherme Rebolo from New Orleans at the No. 3 singles and also won at No. 3 doubles via a walkover on March 14. Stratmann then posted a three-set (4-6, 6-4, 7-5) victory against Rodrigo Rappaccioli from Tulane at No. 4 two days later. He closed out the week with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Eric Fisher from Nicholls at No. 4 singles and then teamed up with freshman Tyler Brown to win their doubles match 8-6 at the No. 2 spot on March 18.
UTSA continues its nine-match road trip with a pair of matches in Lubbock. The Birds play New Mexico on Friday and No. 13 Texas Tech the following day.
