Emiliano Martinez finished the Arizona Intercollegiate at one-under-par.
TUSCON, Ariz. — Senior Emiliano Martinez turned in a scorecard of 212 (-1) to finish tied for 24th place at the Arizona Intercollegiate, which was played at the Arizona National Golf Club.
"Although it's was tough to tell looking at the scoreboard," head coach John Knauer said. "We had some major breakthroughs this week. Sometimes you have to go through tough times to learn from those mistakes to better yourself. This event will make us beter in the future."
The Laredo native recorded four birdies on the day, including three on the back nine, to bring his total to 14 for the tournament. Martinez logged in a pair of 72s and a 68 in between for the event.
Freshman Mitchell Griffin shot a 74 in the third round to bring his two-day total to 228, while junior Lewis Chong fired a three-round tally of 235 (84-71-80). Freshman Taylor Koser finished two strokes behind Chong with a 237.
Meanwhile, freshman Austin Struble, who wrapped up his first collegiate event, registered a 240.
UTSA returns to action when it hosts the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational on Feb. 15-16, at the Oak Hills Country Club.
