— UTSA sent its senior class off in style on Saturday with an easy 25-22, 25-18, 25-19 sweep of UT Arlington at the Convocation Center.

Middle hitter Briana Mason led the Roadrunners (12-18, 7-9 SLC) with a .421 hitting percentage by virtue of her match-high 11 kills and just three errors in 19 attacks. Outside hitters Kendra Rowland and Whitney Walls chipped in with nine and seven winners, respectively.

The Birds, who hit .324 in the opening frame and .323 one stanza later, jumped out to a commanding 2-0 lead and didn't face their first deficit until the first point of the third-and-deciding set. UTSA quickly erased that hole with a 6-0 run early in the frame and never looked back in picking up its fourth sweep of the year.

Setter Amber Brooks handed out a match-leading 20 assists and served up a season-best four aces.

Defensively, Rowland collected a match-best 14 digs and middle hitter Brittney Malloy led all players with five block assists.

Amanda Aguilera led the Mavericks (12-16, 8-8 SLC) with 11 kills and Bianca Sauls registered 13 digs.

Prior to first serve, setter Vickie Mundell and middle hitter Stefanie Robbins were honored for their contributions to the Roadrunners' program during their brief but productive careers.

UTSA will enter next weekend's Southland Conference Tournament as the sixth seed and open play on Friday against No. 3 seed Stephen F. Austin (22-12). First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. The Ladyjacks rallied for a five-set win in Nacogdoches on Oct. 17 in the lone meeting between the two programs this fall.
