Roadrunners collect fourth win in a row on Sunday

Junior Allison Dillon scored one's of UTSA's two goals on Sunday.

CONWAY, Ark. — Junior Allison Dillon and freshman Leah Hendry scored a goal apiece to give the UTSA soccer team the 2-0 win at Central Arkansas in Southland Conference action Sunday afternoon.

The Roadrunners extended their winning streak to a season-high four matches and improved to 7-6 on the season and 2-0 in Southland play. The Bears dropped to 6-5-1 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Dillon got things started for UTSA with her second goal of the season. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native went far post over the hands of Central Arkansas’ goalkeeper to give the Roadrunners the 1-0 lead at the 16-minute mark of the first half.

Hendry gave the Birds a 2-0 cushion with her second goal of the season at the 64-minute mark of the second half. Junior Chelsea Zimmerman was credited with the assist. 

Freshman Dacia Webb picked up her fourth shutout of the season to go along with her seventh win on the year. Webb made four saves on 11 shots faced on the day. Freshman Kara Hoffman and South led UTSA with three shots apiece.

UTSA returns to action weekend in its Southland home opener against McNeese State Friday night and Lamar two days later.
