Sophomore Summer Batiste shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
SAN ANTONIO — Sophomore Summer Batiste turned in an even-par 72 on Tuesday and she finished in a fourth-place at the inaugural Alamo Invitational.
"I'm so proud of how the team competed today," Head coach Carrie Cole said. "We came out of the gate walking and playing like champions. The girls hit a rough patch in the middle of the round, but hung in there until the end. We learned a lot from today's round and are very motivated to compete in out last event of the fall at Texas State."
Batiste recorded six birdies on the day, includingfour on the front nine, and was UTSA's top finisher. Senior Shelly Martinez was four strokes behind Batiste and finished tied for 22nd place.
The Roadrunners closed out the rain-shortened tournament with a team total of 304 and they joined Baylor and Oklahoma in seventh place. Tennessee collected the team title after firing a 289. Notre Dame's Annie Brophy and Tennessee's Nathalie Mansson tied for the individual championship after shooting two-under par 70.
Senior Madison McClain and sophomore Bruna Spengler both carded 78s, while sophomore Shannon Jungman concluded her day with an 87.
UTSA concludes its fall campaign at The Challenge at Onion Creek on Nov. 2-3.
