THIBODAUX, La. — The UTSA soccer ended its Southland Conference match against Nicholls in a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon.
The Roadrunners saw their record go to 9-7-1 overall and 4-1-1 in league play, while the Lady Colonels moved to 4-11-1 on the season and 0-5-1 in conference play.
Alicia Gautreau gave Nicholls the 1-0 lead with her third goal of the season at the 10-minute mark of the first half.
UTSA netted the equalizer off the foot of sophomore Taylor Padia in the second frame. The Kingwood native received a pass from junior Chelsea Zimmerman and put the ball in the back of the net for the sixth time this season with 72:56 in the frame.
The Roadrunners, who held a 37-5 shot advantage, had a chance to win it in the first overtime, but the Lady Colonels’ goalkeeper made the stop to keep it a 1-1 tie.
Junior Allison Dillon recorded a career-high eight shot attempts, while freshman Clare Jakubowski tallied a career-best six shots.
UTSA returns to action next weekend with a pair of home matches against Stephen F. Austin Friday night and Sam Houston State two days later.
