SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA soccer team concludes its four-match home stand with a pair of matches against SMU Friday night and Baylor on Sunday afternoon at the UTSA Recreational Complex.
The Roadrunners (3-4) split their matches last weekend against Utah State and Rice. UTSA picked up its third win of the season with a 1-0 victory versus the Aggies last Friday night, before dropping a 2-0 decision against the Owls two days later.
Freshman goalkeeper Dacia Webb became the first Roadrunner to earn back-to-back Southland Conference Player of the Week honors. The Rosenberg native has started all seven matches, posted two shutouts and collected a league-leading 51 saves.
SMU (1-4) is coming off a 3-2 loss at Saint Mary’s (Calif.) back on Sept. 11. The Mustangs, who are making their first trip to San Antonio, lead the all-time series, 2-0, against the Birds. SMU escaped with a 2-1 win against UTSA on Aug. 31, 2007, in Dallas.
Baylor (3-1-2) fell 2-1 at North Texas on Sept. 11. The Lady Bears hold a 2-0-1 all-time series lead over the Roadrunners, including a 3-0 win last season in Waco.
