HONOLULU, Hawai`i — Brittany Hewitt and Kanani Danielson combined for 20 kills on 30 attacks and helped lead No. 6 Hawai`i to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 sweep of UTSA in front of 5,260 fans on Friday night at The Honolulu Advertiser Challenge.

The Rainbow Wahine (6-2) hit .500 as a team on the strength of 46 winners and just a half dozen errors in 80 swings in sending the Roadrunners (3-7) to their fifth loss in their last six outings.

Hewitt and Danielson each had a match-high 10 kills, while Dani Mafua handed out 37 assists for Hawai`i.

Defensively, Hewitt controlled the net with five block assists, while Danielson and Mafua chipped in with four apiece. Libero Elizabeth Ka'aihue collected a match-best 10 digs along the back row.

Outside hitter Whitney Walls led UTSA with seven winners and a .385 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Kendra Rowland and libero Kelsey Jewasko paced the Birds with seven digs apiece.

UTSA concludes tournament play at 10 p.m. (CT) on Saturday against Weber State (1-8).
