UTSA to continue season-opening five-match road trip this weekend

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA (1-1) is coming off a 2-1 double overtime win last Sunday at Houston. Senior Halee Hamm’s golden goal gave the Roadrunners their first victory of the 2009 campaign.

Meanwhile, freshman goalkeeper Dacia Webb, who made UTSA debut at Texas Tech on Aug. 21, collected seven saves in the win against the Cougars.

TCU (1-0) collected a 2-1 win at No. 25 Texas on Aug. 21 but then fell 4-1 in an exhibition match against the Mexican National Team Tuesday night. The Horned Frogs lead the all-time series, 3-0, against the Birds and are a perfect 2-0 at Garvey Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. UTSA dropped a 2-1 decision in last season’s meeting against TCU in San Antonio.

No. 6 Texas A&M (1-0) kicked off the 2009 season with a 3-0 triumph against No. 8-ranked USC on Aug. 22. The Aggies hold a 1-0 advantage in the all-time series and the two squads will be meeting for the first time since the 2006 season.
