Senior Kyle Collins earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors on Monday.

FRISCO ? Senior Kyle Collins picked up second-team All-Southland Conference honors after finishing fourth at last week’s SLC Championship, the league office announced on Monday.

Collins’ helped the Roadrunners to a fourth-place showing at last week's three-day tournament in Kerrville. The San Antonio native recorded a team-best four top-10 (fall/spring combined) to bring his career total to eight. He also led the team with a 73.85 stroke average, including a career low round of 67 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate (Oct. 16-17).

“It’s a great honor for Kyle to be voted among the league's top 10 golfers byhis peers,” first-year head coach John Knauer said. “To be named second-teamall-conference is a good ending to a great career. He was welldeserving of this honor because he was one of best players all yearlong.”

Collins opened the fall season with a sixth-place performance at the Mean Green Classic on Sept. 8. He then began the spring with his second top-10 outing (t-6th) at the UNO Mardi Gras Invitational on Feb. 10. The senior posted back-to-back fourth-place finishes at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate and SLC Championship.
