SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA junior Holly Phillips collected second-team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI honors on Thursday.
The Rochester, N.Y., native led the team with a 3.95 grade-point-average in biology. She posted a career-high 18 wins in singles play this spring, including 10 in Southland Conference play, both of which were tops on the squad. Phillips, who had a career-best 16-match winning streak from Feb. 7-April 10, earned first-team All-SLC honors at No. 4 singles. She and senior Nathalie Wallin teamed up for a 15-4 record (10-0 SLC) at No. 3 doubles and the pair earned first-team all-conference accolades.
