SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team wraps up its five-match home stand on Saturday when it hosts No. 42 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 2 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (7-10, 3-1 SLC) have won three of the first four matches on the home stand, including a conference victory against Southeastern Louisiana on March 21.
Meanwhile, the Islanders (8-7, 2-0 SLC) are coming off a 6-1 win over UT Arlington in their last contest.
UTSA has a chance at winning the regular season conference crown for the first time since 2001 if they can win its last two leagues matches this season.
“This is a big match for us,” head coach Dr. Oliver Trittenwein said. “Corpus has always been one of the teams to beat. There are a couple of teams in the conference with only one loss. This could be our chance at the conference title, so this is big.”
The Birds will be on the road in Alabama next weekend for a pair of non-conference matches before coming back home to wrap up their conference season when they host Lamar on April 18.
