KERRVILLE ? Senior Kyle Collins posted the second-best round of day with a four-under-par 68 to move into second place at the Southland Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Comanche Trace Golf Course (par 72/7,304 yards).
“Today was a much better day for us, because our guys overcame a slow start,” first-year head coach John Knauer said. “Overall, they improved a lot from yesterday’s round showing more patience on the golf course. It looks like they are starting to find themselves and that’s all I am asking for them to do. They all hung in their in the beginning and ended the day strong to give us a chance for a potential top three finish as we head into the final round. This is just a down payment for what we can do in the future. Again, Kyle had another great round with a 68 and heads to tomorrow’s final round with a chance of finishing with a bang. ”
