? Box score

Junior Lance Brown became the third player in program history to hit for the cycle on Tuesday.

EDINBURG ? Junior Lance Brown hit for the third cycle in UTSA history and the Roadrunners tied a school record with 13 runs in the sixth inning en route to a 16-5 victory at Texas-Pan American on Tuesday afternoon.

Brown homered in the second, singled and tripled in the 13-run sixth and doubled in the seventh to match the rare feat accomplished by Michael Rockett on March 1, 2008, and Mickey Perez on April 1, 1995. The Richland Hills native also scored three times and drove home a pair of runs.

Meanwhile, the Roadrunners (22-18) had their second big inning against the Broncs this season, this time eclipsing the dozen runs they scored in the second stanza of their 17-10 triumph four weeks ago. UTSA batted around twice in the sixth, registering eight hits to go along with five walks and two hit batters. The last time the Birds scored 13 times in an inning was the second in a 24-12 victory at Texas State on April 2, 1995.

Junior Ryan Proudfoot (1-0) picked up his first win since May 9, 2008, after allowing four runs (one earned) on eight hits in six innings of work.

Nathan Molina (2-5), who gave up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and a pair of walks in 5.1 frames, was saddled with the loss for the Broncs (9-33).

With the score tied at two entering the fourth, UTSA took the lead for good on sophomore Ryan Hutson's solo home run to left with one down in the inning. Hutson went on to launch a three-run shot in the sixth, his seventh long ball of the year, and finished the afternoon with three hits and four RBIs.

Senior All-American Michael Rockett continued his hot-hitting ways by going 3-for-5 with a double and his ninth homer of the season. Rockett also drove home two runners, pushing his career total to 191, which broke Kent Wallis' 10-year-old record of 189 set from1996-99. The Sugar Land native now has set the program's all-time marks for at-bats (863), runs (180), hits (305), doubles (61) and total bases (480) this season in addition to Southland Conference records in three of those categories (at-bats, hits, total bases).

Meanwhile, freshman Jason Mohn added a pair of hits, including his fifth bomb of the spring, and five RBIs. Mohn is 5-for-10 with three homers and 12 RBIs against Texas-Pan American this season.

UTSA defeated the Broncs for the seventh consecutive meeting and for the 36th time in of the last 44 matchups dating back to Feb. 20, 2000.

The Roadrunners continue their seven-game road trip this weekend with three contests at Nicholls (17-21, 8-13 SLC).
