SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team will be in Birmingham, Ala., this weekend for a pair of matches.
The Roadrunners (7-11) will square off against Samford (6-12-1) at 11 a.m. (CT) on Saturday before taking on UAB (8-10) at the same time on Sunday.
UTSA suffered a tough 6-1 loss last weekend to Southland Conference-leading and 42nd-ranked Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The setback dropped the squad's record to 3-2 in league play and put it in a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings with UT Arlington and Texas-Pan American.
“I think the guys are a little more disappointed than I am,” head coach Dr. Oliver Trittenwein said. “They know how much that match meant, but it is time to put that loss in the past and focus on this weekend's matches.”
The Roadrunners have one contest remaining in SLC play, a 2 p.m. home tilt next Friday against Lamar.
