Three NCAA Regional marks highight Texas Relays for UTSA men

AUSTIN ? NCAA Regional performances by juniors Johnathan Whittaker and Teddy Williams and freshman Jeffery Herron highlighted the UTSA men's track & field team's four days of action at this week's 82nd annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Williams sped to a fourth-place performance in the 100 meters invitational division with his regional-qualifying time of 10.26. Meanwhile, Whittaker and Herron both cleared of 6-10 ? (2.10m) for the second time this season in their division of the high jump. Whittaker placed 10th in the "A" section of the University/College division, while Herron was second in the "B" flight.

On Wedneday's opening day, freshman Michael Cook clocked a 3:56.29 in winning the "B" section of the 1,500m, while sophomore Brandon Chiuminetta timed a 9:46.35 in a fourth-place effort in the 3,000m steeplechase.

UTSA returns to action next Saturday, April 11, when it travels to El Paso for the UTEP Invitational.
