Junior Holly Phillips ran her winning streaks to 13 singles matches and eight doubles contests on Sunday.

LAKE CHARLES, La. ? The UTSA women’s tennis team bounced back from Saturday’s loss at Lamar with a 7-0 shutout at McNeese State on Sunday. It was the Roadrunners' ninth white-washing of the season.

UTSA (11-5, 6-1 SLC) took the doubles point by winning all three matches.

Senior Nathalie Wallin and junior Holly Phillips got things started on a winning note when they defeated Inga Efimenko and Tea Tvrtkovic, 8-2, at the No. 3 slot for their eighth win in a row. Meanwhile, junior Monika Drabkova and sophomore Caroline Dedering clinched the point with an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 position. Senior Karen Scida and freshman Micaela Silva completed the sweep when they knocked out Ralitsa Pirdopska and Victoria Martinez, 8-6, at the top spot.

The Birds went on to win all six singles matches, including four in straight sets.

Silva gave UTSA a 2-0 advantage with her 6-0, 6-1 win against Efimenko at the sixth spot. Phillips followed with her 13th victory in a row when she dealt Tvrtkovic a 6-1, 6-1 loss. Dedering clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 5 position.

UTSA returns home for a pair of Southland Conference matches against Sam Houston State on Saturday, April 4, and Stephen F. Austin the following day.
