Men?s golf heads to Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic

SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s golf team heads to Wichita, Kan., for the Diet Pepsi Shockers Classic, which will be played at the Wichita Country Club (par 71/6,814 yards). First- and second-round action begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and concludes the next day with the final 18 holes.

Nineteen teams make up the field with Bowling Green, Colorado State, Drake, Iowa Sate, Kansas State, Liberty, Nebraska, Northeastern State, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma City, South Dakota State, South Florida, UMKC, UT Arlington, UTEP , Western Illinois and host Wichita State will join the Roadrunners on the course.

UTSA is coming off a seventh-place showing (306-304-306=916) at last week’s Carter Plantation Intercollegiate. Senior Kyle Collins finished the two-day event with a three-round scorecard of 220 (75-73-72) and ended the event in fourth place.
