LAFAYETTE, La. ? The UTSA men’s golf team fired a 309-299=608 and stand in 15th place after day one of the 24th annual Louisiana Classic held Monday at Oakbourne Country Club.
Freshman Lewis Chong and junior Emiliano Martinez both registered two-round totals of 151 and are tied for 49th place. Freshman Payne Wilkie shot a 78-76=154 and is tied for 60th, while senior Kyle Collins is one stroke behind Wilkie with a day-one tally of 155. Also in action was Isaac Idstein, who is tied for 77th.
New Orleans leads the team standings after day one with a 288-281=569, while Cedric Scotto of Southeastern Louisiana is the individual leader at 68-69=137.
The Roadrunners conclude the Louisiana Classic on Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes.
