Junior All-America candidate Zach Calhoon picked up his second save of the weekend on Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA rallied from an early 2-1 deficit by scoring five runs in the fourth inning and the Roadrunners picked up a 6-3 victory against San Francisco in Sunday's series finale at Wolff Stadium.

UTSA finished the season-opening four-game set with three wins and improved to 3-1 on the year with its second three-run triumph of the weekend.

"I thought the guys did a good job against a quality team from the West Coast this weekend," ninth-year head coach Sherman Corbett said. "There were times we didn't execute as well as we should, but to be able to win three of four games to start the season gives us plenty of momentum as we begin a five-game road trip this week."

The Roadrunners took an early 1-0 lead in the second when junior third baseman Lance Brown launched a sacrifice fly to deep left center field that brought home senior designated hitter Jose Hernandez, who doubled to lead off the frame.

The Dons (1-3) responded with a pair of runs one inning later on a run-scoring single by Derek Poppert and one-out sacrifice fly to center by Stephen Yarrow, which gave USF a 2-1 advantage.

Sophomore first baseman Brett Aguilar jump started the fourth-inning rally with a leadoff triple down the right-field line and, following a Brown walk, senior shortstop Marshal Davis tied the contest at two with his RBI-single through the left side of the infield. A fly ball to left by sophomore Tyler Carpenter moved Brown and Davis up a base and junior catcher Ryan Rummel followed with a run-scoring grounder to short. Seniors Michael Rockett and Aaron Powell then drew back-to-back walks to load the bases and Hernandez brought home a pair with his single to right. Hernandez and Powell then executed a double steal that brought home the frame's final tally.

Hernandez finished the day 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Aguilar was 2-for-3 with a walk. Both players scored once.

Junior southpaw Cody Graham, who came on in relief of junior starter Ryan Proudfoot to start the fifth, picked up the win with two scoreless innings. Junior closer Zach Calhoon whiffed two in the ninth for his second save of the year and 21st of his three-year career.

Dons right-handed starter Alex Kalogrides (0-1) was charged with the loss after giving up five runs on five hits and four walks in 3.2 innings of work.

Stephen Yarrow led the USF offense by going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Powell went 0-for-2 and his 14-game hitting streak dating back to May 3, 2008, came to an end.

UTSA is back in action on Tuesday night when it travels down I-37 for a non-conference matchup with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (1-3). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Whataburger Field, the site for this year's Southland Conference Tournament.
