SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team will be back in action this weekend when they host Laredo Community College at 10 a.m.. on Saturday and St. Edward’s at 2 p.m. the following day. The contests will be the first for the team at the UTSA Tennis Center this spring.
“Laredo probably has the best team they’ve ever had this season,” head coach Dr. Oliver Trittenwein said. “They’ve won the Junior College National Championship the last four years. Their Nos. 1 and 2 players are world-ranked and could play for any Division I school in the nation.”
The Roadrunners (1-3) will be playing their fifth match of the season, but the Palaminos and Hilltoppers both will be playing their first matches of the year It will be the first of four consecutive home contests for the Birds.
Following this weekend, UTSA will have two weeks off before they host Marquette on Friday, Feb. 13.
