Sophomore guard Amber Gregg added a career-best 18 points on6-of-12 shooting from downtown.

UTSA opened the second half on an 8-2 run, but High Point (3-9) used a 9-2 stretch to pull within five (40-35) at the 14-minute mark. A Jurica Hargraves three ball moments later made it a two-point game, but Anderson converted a three-point play to give UTSA a 49-43 cushion. An Ashlee Samuels jumper capped off a 7-1 spurt by the Panthers to make the score 51-50, but it would be the closest they would get for the rest of the night.

The Roadrunners went on an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 59-50 with five minutes to play. Amy Dodd’s freebies pulled the Panthers within three with 2:02 to play, but Gregg connected on her sixth and final 3-pointer of the night to ice the game for the Roadrunners.

UTSA opened the contest by making four of its first five buckets and jumped to an 11-0 lead. Brown’s basket got High Point on the board and Dodd’s layup with 9:15 to go made it a seven-point contest. However, junior guard Alysse Davis knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Roadrunners a 20-10 advantage a minute later. The Panthers got within six on Dodd's layup with under three minutes to go, but consecutive layups by Anderson and Pawlaczyk gave the Birds a 30-22 halftime edge.

UTSA is back in a action on Saturday when it hosts Rice in a 2 p.m. tilt at the Convo.
