FRISCO ? Senior guard Monica Gibbs picked up her third career Southland Conference Player of the Week honor, the league office announced on Monday.
The Stillwater, Okla., native recorded UTSA’s first-ever triple-double with 19 points, a career-high 13 assists and 12 rebounds in the 93-55 win against Huston-Tillotson on Saturday. Gibbs is the first SLC player to record a triple-double this season and it marked the first time since March 5, 2007, that she won the league's weekly honor.
Gibbs leads the Roadrunners with 14.6 points and 7.7 assists per game in addition to ranking third with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
UTSA (2-5) returns to action on Dec. 19 against Oakland (4-3) at the Cozumel Cup in Cozumel, Mexico.
