Junior Halee Hamm scored UTSA's lone goal on Friday night.

LAKE CHARLES, La. ? Second-seeded McNeese State ended UTSA's season on Friday night with a 3-1 victory in the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals.

Junior Halee Hamm tied the match at one on a deflection in the 39th minute, but Kamryn Koch’s second goal of the match gave the Cowgirls (11-7-2) a 2-1 edge just five seconds after UTSA had just tied the contest. Alana Clark gave McNeese State a 3-1 cushion at the 64-minute mark and sent the host team into Sunday's final.

The Cowgirls struck at the 27-minute mark of the first half Koch capitalized on a deflection by UTSA goalkeeper NicolineJoergensen.

“It was a tough loss against a very good team,” UTSA head coach SteveBallard said. “The quick kickoff by McNeese after ourgoal was deflating. We will take a few weeks off and get ready for the2009 season.”

The Roadrunners (10-10-1) had two chances on corner kicks with less than 10 minutes remaining, but junior Kim Selman’s header hit the post and junior Ezinne Okpo’s shot went wide.
