GULF SHORES, Ala. ? The UTSA women’s golf team shot a final-round 318 and finished in seventh place with a team total of 621 at the UAB Beach Blast held at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club.
"Today was definitely a rough and disappointing day," head coach Carrie Cole said. " We need to perform a lot better when we are in position to win a golf tournament. Our hard work to get ready for the spring season, the conference tournament and postseason starts now."
Junior Shelly Martinez led the Roadrunners with rounds of 77 and 75 to finish tied for 14th place with a 152. Senior Allie Jordan struggled in the final round, shooting an 82 and tied for 22nd with a two-round tally of 155. Senior Laura Baker capped off the tournament one stroke behind Jordan and tied for 24th place.
UTSA opens spring play on Feb. 23-24 at the Islanders Spring Classic.
