UTSA jumped out to a 6-3 early lead on Gibbs’ pull-up jumper four minutes into the first half. TCU then took its first lead of the contest after a 14-4 run over the next seven minutes. An Anderson base-line jumper pulled UTSA within three midway through the stanza, but back-to-back buckets by Garoutte and Carter gave TCU a seven-point advantage and it had a 42-30 edge at the half.
The Roadrunners continue their three-game road trip next weekend with contests at Wichita State and Kansas State.
