SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA hit .330, its second-best performance of the season, while limiting Lamar to just a .099 percentage and the Roadrunners cruised to an easy 25-16, 25-13, 25-15 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. The win was UTSA's 15th in its last 18 contests and improved its season record to 16-9 overall and 8-3 in Southland Conference play.

Sophomore outside hitter Kendra Rowland led three players in double figures with a match-high 12 kills. Junior middle hitter Stefanie Robbins and sophomore middle hitter Briana Mason both chipped in with 11 and the pair combined for just one error in 38 attacks, which translated to a .552 swing percentage.

The Lady Cardinals (11-9, 9-2 SLC) got off to a quick start, but the Roadrunners went on a 19-6 run to end the first set en route to a nine-point win. It was all UTSA one frame later, as it used an early 12-1 stretch to build a commanding 13-4 advantage and it never looked back. The Birds hit .412 in the stanza and held Lamar to a .086 percentage in the 12-point victory.

UTSA did not let up coming out of intermission. The Roadrunners used a .438 swing ratio and a match-clinching 14-5 run to close things out of avenge a sweep at the hands of the Lady Cardinals three weeks ago.

UTSA was once again strong on defense, as it out-dug Lamar, 58-39, in addition to registering four team blocks. Freshman libero Kelsey Jewasko recorded a match-best 20 digs, her seventh 20-plus contest of the year, and freshman outside hitter Elise Huskey added 15. Meanwhile, Robbins racked up a pair of block assists to lead the effort at the net.

The Lady Cardinals were led by Andrea Hamilton's nine digs and Genevieve Gladle's seven winners.

UTSA is back in action on Tuesday night when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-18, 1-10 SLC) in a 7 p.m. match at the Convo. The Roadrunners defeated the Islanders in five sets on Oct. 3.
