Jordan tied for third after day one of UAB Beach Blast

 
 Senior Allie Jordan shot a 73 to lead UTSA to school-record round on Monday.

GULF SHORES, Ala. ? Senior Allie Jordan is tied for third place after firing first-round total of 73 to lead the UTSA women’s golf team to a school-record 303on Monday at the UAB Beach Blast.

“We played very well today,” head coach Carrie Cole said. "We broke the record for our best score as a team by shooting a 303, which is quite an achievement. We are in a great position heading into tomorrow’s final round and are excited to be in the lead pairing.”

Jordan trails Sam Hunt from Samford by two stokes in the individual standings. Senior Laura Baker turned in a score card of 76 and is tied for 16th place, while juniors Shelly Martinez and Madison McClain are tied for 22nd following their 77s.

The Roadrunners return to the links on Tuesday morning for the final 18 holes.
