FRISCO ? Junior defender Ezinne Okpo earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors, while junior defender Celeste Carruth, sophomore forward Allison Dillon and freshman goalkeeper Nicoline Joergensen collected honorable mention accolades, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Okpo, a first-teamer a year ago, has started 18 matches this fall and leads the team with 1,433 minutes played. The Denton native has anchored a Roadrunners defense that has posted seven shutouts, which has tied last year’s single-season record.

Carruth has appeared in 17 contests and tallied two assists this year. The Midland native also has been instrumental in helping UTSA record seven shutouts this fall.

Dillon, who was the 2007 SLC Freshman of Year and a first-team honoree, last season earned honorable mention honors. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native leads the team with seven goals and 17 points in addition to ranking second on the squad with 49 shots and three assists.

Joergensen, meanwhile, has made an immediate impact in the net this year. The Odense, Denmark, native leads the squad with 78 saves, three shutouts and six wins.

UTSA heads into the SLC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded Northwestern State in first-round action on Thursday at the Ward 3 Recreation Complex in Lake Charles, La. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
