SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA looks to carry the momentum from last week's wins against McNeese State and Stephen F. Austin when it hits the road for a pair of matches at Northwestern State (7 p.m., Thursday) and Central Arkansas (noon, Saturday) this weekend.
The Roadrunners, who have won 12 of their last 14 matches, carry a 13-8 overall record and 5-2 mark in Southland Conference into Thursday's match. UTSA's last contest saw it pick up the program's first victory in nearly eight years against SFA.
The Lady Demons have dropped four of their last five matches and stand at 7-11 overall and 2-6 in SLC play. The Roadrunners hold a commanding 26-3 edge in the all-time series that dates back to 1991, but the two squads have split the last four contests, including a Northwestern State sweep in Natchitoches, La., a year ago.
Central Arkansas enters its Thursday match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 13-6 overall and a 5-3 mark in league action. The Sugar Bears lost a pair of tilts against Texas State and UT Arlington last week and that snapped a four-match winning streak. The two teams have split the first two all-time matchups., as UTSA won in four sets in 2006 and UCA rebounded with a sweep last fall.
Due to ongoing renovations at Prather Coliseum, an audio stream of Thursday's contest will not be available, however, Northwestern State will provide a video stream (Rowdy Zone subscription required) and live stats (free). Both services can be accessed on goUTSA.com. There will be an audio feed of Saturday's match at Central Arkansas.
