Wilson/ITA Women’s Southwest Regionals, which will be played at Bayard H. Friedman
Tennis Center. The five-day event begins on Thursday and runs through Monday, Oct. 27.
The Roadrunners are coming off a solid performance last weekend at the Rice Classic.
Seniors Karen Scida and Eva Silvester teamed up to collect an 8-3 win against Nicole Briceno and Sophie Quist from SMU to win the Flight 1 Doubles consolation bracket.
In singles action, senior Nathalie Wallin won the Flight 2 singles consolation bracket with a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 victory against Lynley Wasson from Houston. Junior Holly Phillps won the Flight 4 singles consolation bracket with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Frederique Sunstrum from Lee College in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).
Also in singles action was sophomore Caroline Dedering, who won the Flight 5 singles consolation bracket with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Chelsea Creed from Lee College.
Meanwhile, Freshman Micaela Silva posted straight-sets win (7-5, 6-3) versus Itzel Manzanera from UT Arlington en route to winning the Flight 6 singles consolation.
In the Flight 8 singles, freshman Katie Ottenbreit cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win against Rachel Cox from SMU to win her first collegiate title.
