HUNTSVILLE ? Sophomore Allison Dillon’s goal proved to be the difference and UTSA collected its sixth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win at Sam Houston State in Southland Conference action on Sunday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (7-9, 4-2 SLC) got on the board first when Dillon netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season at the 23-minute mark of the first half. Freshman Erin Mackay and junior Veronica Najera were credited with assists on the play.
In second half action, the Lady Bearkats (7-5, 2-3 SLC) had four chances to tie the match, but freshman goalkeeper Nicoline Joergensen, who made six saves in the contest, came up huge for the Roadrunners.
Najera recorded a match-high five shots and Dillon tallied four.
UTSA returns to San Antonio to host I-35 rival Texas State on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the UTSA Rec Sports Complex. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
