Four Roadrunners to compete at Sam Houston State Invitational on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO ? Four members of the UTSA men’s cross country team will travel to Huntsville on Saturday to compete at the Sam Houston State Invitational.

Sophomore Dominick Zucconi, redshirt freshman Al Johnson and freshmen Eric Doll and Cole Reveal will run in the 6,400-meter race, which will be held at 8:30 a.m. at Kate Barr-Ross Memorial Park. For complete meet information and results, please visit gobearkats.com.

The meet marks the final tune-up for the Southland Conference Championship to be held Monday, Nov. 3, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

UTSA is coming off a solid showing at the Walt Disney World? Classic last Saturday in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The men finished sixth out of 38 teams behind a 30th-place effort from freshman Michael Cook, while junior Dana Mecke remained unbeaten with her sixth victory of the season to guide the women to 11th place in the 44-squad field. Mecke picked up her fifth SLC Athlete of the Week award on Tuesday for her performance.
