Roadrunners to conclude road trip on Wednesday night

SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA looks to get back on the winning track on Wednesday night when it concludes a five-match road trip at McNeese State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium and the contest can be heard live on goUTSA.com (Rowdy Zone subscription required).

The Roadrunners (11-8, 3-2 SLC) saw their 10-match winning streak come to an end last Friday when they were swept at Lamar. UTSA then let a 2-0 lead slip away the following day at Sam Houston State and dropped into a third-place tie in the Southland Conference West Division standings.

The Cowgirls (5-11, 2-3 SLC) are coming off back-to-back victories last weekend against Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls. Chanel Tyler leadsMcNeese with 3.1 kills and 3.4 digs per set and is second onthe team with 16 service aces. Jennifer Cook is hitting a team-best.268 percent and Nicole Bowden has collected 46 total blocks.

UTSA has won six of the last eight meetings, but the two teams have split the last four. The Roadrunners hold a 19-17 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 1991 season.

The contest will feature the top two digging teams in the league. UTSAleads the circuit with 15.6 digs per set, while the Cowgirls are just behind at15.4.
