Halee Hamm had UTSA's lone goal in the 2-1 loss against Southeastern Louisiana on Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO ?The UTSA women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker to Southland Conference foe Southeastern Louisiana on Sunday afternoon at the UTSA Rec Sports Complex.

The Lady Lions (7-4-1, 1-3 SLC) got on the scoreboard first off a corner kick within the first four minutes of the match. Natalie Santana was the recipient of the corner and put it past freshman Nicoline Joergensen for the first goal.

The Roadrunners (5-9, 2-2 SLC) tied the match at 1-1 when junior Halee Hamm set the ball near post past the diving goalie  Lacey Bockhaus at the 65-minute mark of the second half.

However, SLU took the lead for good when Megan Zahnow received a pass from Santana and was able to float the ball over Joergensen for the game-winner at the 76-minute mark.

UTSA had three chances to tie the match down the stretch, but SLU’s goalie made three saves to keep the match in the Lady Lions' favor.

The Roadrunners held a 19-8 shot advantage, but Bockhaus made eight saves on the day.

Hamm posted a match-high four shots and a goal to lead UTSA, while junior Veronica Najera and sophomore Allie Dillon each recorded an assist on the day, both on Hamm's goal.

UTSA hits the road for a pair of league matches next weekend at Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State.
