SAN ANTONIO ? Sophomore middle hitter Valorie Rogers led a balanced offensive attack with a match-high 10 kills and UTSA held Prairie View A&M to a .000 hitting percentage en route to a 25-15, 26-24, 25-11 victory on Tuesday night at the Convocation Center. The win was the eighth in a row for the Roadrunners (9-6), the program's longest since a 15-gamer in 2000.

UTSA, which hit .393 in the opening set, used an 8-3 run to extend a 12-8 lead to 20-11 and the Roadrunners went on to win the first stanza for the fourth contest in a row. The next frame saw seven ties and a pair of lead changes, but the Birds scored four of the final five points to hold on for the win and take a commanding 2-0 advantage into the locker room. UTSA came out of intermission and hit .357 while keeping the Lady Panthers in the red and posted its second-largest margin of victory of the year (14 points) to wrap up the match.

All told, a half dozen Roadrunners hit .231 or better on the night. Sophomore middle hitter Briana Mason and freshman outside hitter Elise Huskey had seven winners each and senior Gena Rhodes and freshman Kelsey Jewasko added five. Mason (3/1) and Rogers (1/3) added four blocks, while senior Audrey Hiser and Jewasko shared the team lead with nine digs.

The Roadrunners now have won all 13 matches in the all-time series that dates back to 1989 and swept the past nine overall.

UTSA, off to its best Southland Conference start (2-0) in four years, returns to league play on Friday night at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-9, 1-1 SLC). First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Moody Fieldhouse.
