Head coach Laura Neugebauer-Groff has led the Roadrunners to seven wins in a row.

SAN ANTONIO ?UTSA continued its hot play and kicked off the 2008-09 I-35 rivalry against Texas State with a 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20 victory against the Bobcats on Saturday at the Convocation Center. The win was the Roadrunners' seventh in a row after starting the year 1-6.

Sophomore outside hitter Kendra Rowland had a match-high 17 kills and freshman libero Kelsey Jewasko had a career-best 27 digs to lead UTSA (8-6, 2-0 SLC) to their first win against the Bobcats since Nov. 9, 2006.

Junior Stefanie Robbins and sophomore Valorie Rogers controlled the middle with 13 and 10 winners, respectively, and the pair teamed up to hit a collective .333 in the match. Meanwhile, freshman setter Amber Brooks handed out 44 assists and it was her seventh contest in a row with at least 40.

UTSA dominated the back row throughout the match, registering a season-high 87 digs. Senior Audrey Hiser and freshman outside hitter Elise Huskey had 18 apiece and Rowland added 10 for her fourth double-double in a row and ninth of the season.

Jessica Weynand had 15 kills and 15 digs for Texas State (8-11, 1-1 SLC) and Brttany Collins added 21 assists and 18 digs.

The Roadrunners wrap up their current four-match home stand on Tuesday night against Prairie View A&M. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Convo.
